BEGINNERS

After we master obedience, we teach a firm “hold” command as well as the Trained Retrieve. The remaining time is spent teaching marking skills on land and water in every hunting scenario we can come up with! We'll even teach your pup how to swim if they don't already know how.
Upon successful completion of the training program, your hunting partner will have the basic obedience skills for hunting, steady and conditioned to sounds of a gun, retrieving marked birds, and delivering straight to your hand. They will be able to compete at a Junior Level.
This program takes an average of four to six months, although that is completely dependent upon both the dog’s abilities and the finished skill level you desire. Every dog is different and our goal is to work at the pace that best suits them and their learning abilities.
During this time period we will send you updates on their progress as well as offer regular visits for you to come out and practice their new skills with our Pro Trainer. This is a lot of learning. Not only for the dog, but also for their human! Our goal is to keep you informed of their progress, to help you learn, as well as spend time with your pup.

Doubles & Blinds: Handling retrieves with multiple birds and navigating blind retrieves with confidence.
Memory & Handling: Remembering the location of 3-4 birds and expertly casting them on land and water.
Command Mastery: Perfecting whistle sits, simple T-patterns, 5-point, swim-by, and water handling techniques.
